Faculty Positions in the Bachelor Program in Digital Media and Technology at Tzu Chi University (TCU)
The Department of Digital Media & Technology (DMT) at Tzu Chi University is seeking to fill full-time positions in Hualien, Tzu Chi main campus. The Department of Digital Media & Technology invites applications for faculty positions at the Assistant Professor level and above (by academic qualifications or by practice) in the area of Digital Media. We are an education program focused on applied practices and research informed by close engagement with industry.
Education: A PhD degree in digital media, media production, film studies, or a relevant digital media discipline, completed by August 1, 2021. The ability to work with and teach diverse groups of students in English environment, with substantial industry practice with work on projects of reputation is required. The ability to pursue interdisciplinary funded research is additional consideration.
Qualifications:
- Experience in teaching in the discipline identified
- Experience in design practice if relevant
- Ability to read, write and converse in English

Job Description: The faculty member will support the undergraduate majors in Digital Media including Digital Media Fundamentals, Video and Studio production, Animation and Visual Effects as well as New Media Strategy. In addition, the faculty member will develop and conduct hands-on curriculum, demonstrate leadership, provide service and engagement work. Teaching courses in one or more of the following areas will be required: video/studio production, new media, digital storytelling, and motion graphics.
Duties: Demonstrating active learning pedagogies, funded activities for an active research or production program, teaching and developing undergraduate courses, and mentoring are expected. Applicants must be committed to all aspects of diversity in learning, discovery, and engagement.
